Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested
On February 24, 2020, at 2:06pm, our communications center received a call of shots fired at the intersection of South Street and Bank Street. The caller stated they saw two men arguing and one pulled out a gun. Several shots were fired at the victim, who was not injured. An investigation identified the suspect as Dashun Pierce, 18 years old of Franklin and led to a search warrant being conducted at a residence on Bracy Street. Dashun Pierce was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder, Use of a Firearm in a Threatening Manner, and Discharge of a Firearm in a Public Place. Also arrested as a result of the search warrant, was Dariun Everett, 21 years old from Franklin on an unrelated warrant out of Colonial Heights. Everett was released on a secured bond. Pierce was held without bond and transported to WTRJ. The Franklin Police Department would like to thank the Commonwealth Attorney’s office, the Virginia State Police and the Southampton County Sherriff’s Office for assistance provided in this case. The investigation is ongoing.
